Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze has come under the monitor of a leading Spanish LaLiga analyst, who argued that the Super Eagles’ youngster was rendered very ineffective last weekend against UD Huesca simply because his coach could not marshal better tactics, megasportsarena.com reports.
This is the verdict of former Barcelona of Spain midfielder, Andrea Orlandi, who scolded Villarreal’s new coach, Unai Emery for keeping Chukwueze pegged back down the right flank of The Yellow Submarine’s frontline, and the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup third top scorer became a shadow of his fiery self.
It also turned out to be a struggle for Villarreal, who entered the game among top tips to finish in the top four positions, but they were held to a 1-1 draw by newly promoted Huesca at Estadio de la Ceramica on Sunday evening.
Up next for Chukwueze and his teammates is a battle with SD Eibar at Estadio de la Cerámica on Sunday; ahead of which Orlandi charged Emery to outline better tactics than the ones that saw his side struggle for form and relied on a penalty kick to draw level against the visitors.
He is of a view that Emery should allow more flexibility on the field for Chukwueze, who got 90 minutes’ action for the home team, while his captain in the Golden Eaglets, Kelechi Nwakali was a 62nd minute substitute for Huesca, who benched Nigerian-born youngster, Kevin Omoruyi.
His verdict also received a tactical explanation from Huesca’s coach, Míchel, who commended his players for keeping Chukwueze quiet; which tended to affirm the declaration by Orlandi that Nwakali’s side curtailed his Nigerian compatriot and he equally praised the LaLiga newcomers for nullifying any threat that could have come from the left-footed lad in jersey number 11.
Orlandi stated on LaLiga TV: “When Gerard Moreno had the ball something was always going to happen but apart from that Samuel Chukwueze, on the right, they were always doubling up on him.
“I thought that Galan had a fantastic game, Ferreiro helped him a lot so when the Nigerian had the ball, 1 v 1 situation it wasn’t the case, it was always one against two so he was kind of isolated.”
