Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze and Racing Genk of Belgium striker, Paul Ebere Onuachu were both physically present at an event in Lagos, where officials of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) unveiled a new bus for the Super Eagles, megasportsarena.com reports.
The Eagles’ new bus was revealed during a marketing event that also introduced an ambulance to the Nigerian national team, ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone this Friday in Benin City, while the squad’s coach, Gernot Rohr also gets a new car, all courtesy the NFF’s latest partners.
Officials revealed that, as part of the agreement, official cars will also be presented to the NFF’s president, general-secretary and technical director, while the Eagles get an ultra-modern fully-equipped ambulance and a mini-bus in the first instance.
Also present during the unveiling of the three-year agreement in the first instance was deputy chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Sports, Honourable Afolabi Olalekan Rasheed, who reiterated that football is big business globally and stressed that it is important for big businesses to continue getting involved with the game in Nigeria.
A press statement by the NFF’s communications department revealed that the advent of a new official automobile partner marked the first time Nigeria’s football governing body unfolded an agreement with a motor manufacturing company, such that officials of the federation were all delighted with their consummation of the union on Tuesday.
NFF president, Amaju Melvin Pinnick said: “This union moves us forward in our determination to become a self-funding Football Federation. It is a fast-growing organization with a lot of qualitative and farsighted persons, just like the NFF.
“With its involvement in the Lagos City Marathon, Asaba Marathon, the AMVCA, The Voice and much more, this partnership is a pivotal step towards deepening an already-existing relationship between the brand and the sports industry.”
