The unveiling of former Arsenal of England youth team striker, Chuba Akpom has left English Championship side, Middlesbrough’s coach, Neil Warnock excited, as he believes the all-action attacker, who joins his team for £2.75m from PAOK Thessaloniki of Greece, has immense power and tact to bring more glory home to The Riverside.
Warnock was reeling lyrical after his club’s egg heads confirmed sealing a quickfire deal for the 24-year-old Nigerian-born striker, who has committed his international future to the Super Eagles and scored 18 goals across two seasons with PAOK, while also helping them win the Greek Cup and Super League double last year.
Megasportsarena.,com can report that it is now a new mission for the barrel-chested Akpom, who signed a three-year contract that makes him Middlesbrough’s fourth summer signing, following Egypt international, Sam Morsy as well as Marcus Bettinelli and Grant Hall to The Riverside, where the former Arsenal striker will also link up with Democratic Republic of Congo striker, Britt Assombalonga.
Akpom returns to Queensland two years after he left to join PAOK, and Warnock admitted he is elated to welcome the former England under-21 international, who previously played 52 games in total during loan spells at Hull City, Brighton and Nottingham Forest, before getting a full transfer from Arsenal to PAOK.
Warnock disclosed: “I’m delighted to finally have got him. He’s been my number one choice. I’ve wanted him for a long time. I’d like to give a big thanks to Neil Bausor for getting it done. I told him what we were doing at the club, and right from day one, he wanted to come, and I’m delighted.”
