PAOK Saloniki of Greece striker, Chuba Akpom hit home his ninth goal of the season on Sunday, to set for himself a new mark of the highest number of net bangers in a single campaign.
Megasportsarena.copm reports that the new mark came for Akpom when he hit target on Sunday, to help PAOK get a 1-1 draw away to Xanthi Skoda in the Greek Super League.
The former Arsenal youth team player curled home a brilliant effort past Xanthi’s goalkeeper, Carlos Abad to open scoring after four minutes, but the visitors were denied three points when Lisgaras powered home a header.
Nonetheless, Akpom’s goal against Xanthi was his ninth in all competitions so far this season, with seven coming in the Greek League, one in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers and one in the FA Cup (Kypello Elladas).
His previous best season scoring record of eight goals was set during his first season in Greece, after he ended his loan spell with Hull City with seven goals in 41 matches back in the 2015/16 season as well as six from 16 games during his time at Sint-Truidense VV of Belgium.
