CSKA Moscow of Russia new singing, Chidera Ejuke is still basking in the euphoria of his goal on his home debut with the Russian Premier League club and declared that he wants to do even better in order to make the club’s fans happy, megasportsarena.com reports.
The summer signing from SC Heerenveen of Holland got his first goal for CSKA in stoppage time of the second half, as he hit home a right-footed shot from close range, after going on in the 65th minute and helped The Armymen to a 3-1 derby win over Spartak Moscow.
In the wake of Sunday’s game at VEB Arena, Ejuke, who signed a four-year contract with the club that once had Chidi Ordia, Ahmed Musa and Aaron Samuel Olanere, is now thinking of also making his debut in the UEFA Europa League this Thursday and he hopes to score more goals in subsequent matches.
He gave kudos to CSKA’s coach, Viktor Goncharenko for helping him settle down fast since his arrival from Holland and disclosed that the gaffer keeps giving him useful tips about tactics, team bonding and personal impacts, such that he was able to make a huge impact even as a substitute on his home debut last weekend.
Ejuke disclosed: “He just told me to go in and enjoy and just try to play with the team, defend with the team as well which is like more important but when we play forward, be free and enjoy your game, use what you have to create chances for the team and just support each other.
“To be honest it’s exciting to score, each time I go out there I just want to do my best and give my best for the fans, for the team, for the club. Hopefully as the season goes I can keep scoring. I believe and I’m just looking forward to that.”
