Arsenal of England youngster, Bukayo Saka is still a long way off from accepting a new contract with The Gunners, and officials at Emirates Stadium are still struggling to reach an agreement with the winger-cum-left-back over terms of an extended deal, megasportsaerena.com reports.
In contrast with initial reports at the start of this month that both parties were on the verge of eventually sealing fresh terms that would see the youngster earn a lot more than his currently running first professional contract with the London club, that prospect is still a long way off.
This is noted in a report by 90Minutes, which revealed that the 18-year-old Saka, who has enjoyed tremendous form and regular playing time under Mikel Arteta this season, with three goals and nine assists across all competitions, despite playing in an unfamiliar left-back position, is yet to pen fresh terms with the London Gunners.
The delay in Saka sealing a deal with Arsenal has now created room for four of their EPL rivals, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Leicester City as well as Borussia Dortmund of Germany to fancy their chances of hooking Saka this summer, as the teenager’s current deal at Emirates Stadium is set to expire in 2021.
It means Arsenal risk losing the England under-19 international, who would be valued in the region of twenty million euros, but the report adds that The Gunners remain confident that he will sign a new multi-year contract in the coming days.
