Under-23 national team, Olympic Eagles midfielder, Bright Enobakhare is quickly getting over his recent sack at Wolverhampton Wanderers of England, as he has caught the eye of AEK Athens of Greece and Besiktas of Turkey ahead of next season, megasportsarena.com reports.
The links with Besiktas and AEK are coming just two weeks after Enobakhare was released from his contract at Wolves by mutual consent, and he could be on his way to either Turkey or Greece this summer, as both clubs have reportedly opened talks with his representatives.
The 22-year-old battling midfielder from Edo State, who is available on a free transfer after he mutually terminated his contract with Wolves last month, looks closer to a deal with AEK, as the Athens-based side are in the market for a versatile midfielder.
Enobakhare fits plum into that inquest, as he can play as an inverted winger and a right footed forward that can play down the left flank, or even play effectively as a support attacker or top striker, though he is predominantly a midfielder.
The chances of Besiktas of snatching him, though, are low, as the club is in a financial turmoil and might not be able to meet up with personal terms placed on the table by Enobakhare, who had a successful loan spell at Coventry City in the second half of the 2018/19 campaign.
During his time with Coventry, Enobakhare scored six goals in 18 matches and won the club’s Young Player of the Year award but, despite a promising start to his days at Wolves, he was loaned to Wigan Athletic at the beginning of the season.
His days with The Latics were not successful, leading to his recall by Wolves in January, only for them to lay-off the Benin City-born Enobakhare, who is also eligible to play for England but got cap-tied to Nigeria after playing for the Olympic Eagles against Ivory Coast last November.
A report by TMW has now confirmed that officials of AEK Athens and Besiktas are in contact with Enobakhare’s agent, as the lad who was with Wolves for six years before his departure last week faces the opportunity of a new chapter in his career outside England.
