Barcelona Femeni of Spain could be without the services of Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons’ captain, Asisat Oshoala next season, as she is reportedly on her way out Camp Nou, megasportsarena.com reports.
Despite recently helping Barca Ladies to the domestic title and UEFA Women’s Champions League, ‘Super Zee’ appears to be on her way out of The Catalans, and Manchester United of England could be her next port of call.
Oshoala, who starred in Nigeria for FC Robo Queens of Lagos and Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt and last played for Dalian Quanjian of China, has earlier experience of having played in England with Liverpool Ladies and Arsenal Women, such that a deal with Manchester United might not be out of place.
A strong hint in that direction has now been provided by Barcelona-based sports daily, Mundo Deportivo, which disclosed that the four-time and reigning African Women Footballer of The Year wants to leave Barcelona in search of regular game time elsewhere and United are keen on getting her.
In the mire of a season riddle by injuries, Oshoala has recorded 15 starts from a possible 27 in the Spanish Primera División, logging 1,292 minutes for the European champions, but she is eager to get additional marks elsewhere.
The report adds that The Blaugranes are already making plans for life without Oshoala, as top shots at the club are considering an option of handing more first-team opportunities to fast-rising 18-year-old attacker, Bruna Vilamala.
