Everton of England midfielder, Alex Iwobi is fit and ready to stage a return to action this weekend, after a bout with injury since December, as he has been cleared to play for The Toffees when they visit Vicarage Road for Saturday’s league fixture against Watford, megasportsarena.com reports.
Iwobi is yet to play since he suffered a hamstring injury against his former club, Arsenal, after just 11 minutes of action during the game in December, and he has missed their last seven games across all competitions, but Everton’s boss Carlo Ancelotti is ready to list him this time.
Ancelotti disclosed that Iwobi is fit enough to make his comeback with Everton, who stand at 12th on the English Premier League log and will be looking to secure maximum points from the fixture away to struggling Watford, after back-to-back draws in their last two road games.
Ahead of Saturday’s trip to Vicarage Road, Ancelotti confirmed that Iwobi is in contention to make his 17th EPL appearance of the season against The Hornets, which means there would be some difficulty in arriving at the starting 11 for the game, though Cote d’Ivoire star, Jean Gbamin is yet to recover fully from a thigh injury that has kept him out of action since August.
Ancelotti told Everton TV: “Richarlison is okay and has trained all week. This week we had only Gbamin out, the others are all fit and in good condition. Richarlison and Iwobi are available [to face Watford]. Gylfi Sigurdsson is available. So it will be difficult to choose my line-up.”
