Everton of England midfielder, Alex Iwobi may get to work under his former gaffer at Arsenal, Unai Emery, as the Spanish tactician has been approached about the option of taking over the saddle at Goodison Park.
Megasportsarena.com gathered that, although Iwobi was sold to Everton before the start of Emery’s second season with The Gunners, coach and player look set to reunite once again, following the gaffers sack in London, and interest now coming his way from The Toffees.
It would interest Iwobi and his fans to learn that Emery was approached about the Everton job, but it was an informal meeting in London, after which the coach said he wants more time to think about his next move following his dismissal by Arsenal.
However, one caveat Iwobi and the top brass at Everton can hang unto is that Emery is keen to continue improving his spoken English, but he still sees England ahead of Spain and Italy as the best viable option for his next job.
Everton are on the hunt for a new manager after they parted ways with Marco Silva last week, with Duncan Ferguson currently in temporary charge, and led the side to a shock win over Chelsea last weekend, but Shanghai SIPG of China boss, Vitor Pereira is believed to be top of the board’s list.
Club chairman, Bill Kenwright and majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri have drawn up a four-man shortlist, including Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti and, while Emery is taking time out after his Arsenal exit, he does not want to wait too long and is already thinking about his next challenge.
