Former Golden Eaglets’ dazzler, Akinkumi Amoo may end up spending yet another season at Hammarby of Sweden, as the Scandinavian club’s sports director, Jesper Jansson says they do not have any concrete transfer offer for him.
Jansson went on to affirm that the Sidos FC of Ibadan product may jolly well end up staying into the coming season, as he does not foresee a situation in which the petit lad could be sold before the summer transfer window closes.
Megasportsarena.com gathered that Sidos FC will benefit from the sale of Amoo by Hammarby, having inserted a 10% sell-on clause into the deal that took him to the Swedish Allsvenskan side in the summer of 2020.
However, Sidos may have to wait longer for that to happen, as Hammarby are not thinking of selling the youngster, who has also been linked with Leicester City of England, Ajax Amsterdam of Netherlands and Club Brugge of Belgium.
Rave reviews and transfer links keep trailing him, after he emerged a standout performer for Hammarby and helped them win the Svenska Cupen at the end of last month.
He netted four goals in seven FA Cup matches and three in the Allsvenskan, with his form belying the fact that he has played only 21 games as a professional.
Consequently, the Ibadan-born right winger has seen his market value rise to three million euros, making him the most expensive player at Hammarby, but Jansson stressed that they are in no hurry to sell him.
Jansson told fotbolldirekt.se: “We have nothing concrete there. I know there is a lot of talk but we do not feel any stress with Amoo.
“He is definitely not stressed; but we have a very good dialogue about his future.”
