Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia attacker, Ahmed Musa has expressed a strong sense of anger over what he described as ‘fake news’ about coronavirus infection for him and his family members, on account of his revelation that he is quarantine, after returning to Nigeria from his base, megasportsarena.com reports.
Musa indeed stated on social media at the start of this week that he went into quarantine in Abuja, upon arrival from Saudi Arabia aboard a private plane with his wife, children and fellow-football star, John Ugochukwu Ogu, but he insists it is not because of any coronavirus infection.
No sooner had he posted the revelation about his immediate quarantine on arrival in Abuja than reactions started flooding in, laced with lamentations and sympathy over what had largely been assumed to be a COVID-19 case for Musa, but the former Kano Pillars, VV Van Venlo of Holland, CSKA Moscow of Russia and Leicester City of England star has now come out with a rebuttal.
While slamming those who concluded that he had tested positive for COVID-19, Musa stressed that he only returned to Nigerian due to the suspension of matches in the Saudi Pro League, as he returned to Twitter and Instagram to disclose that he is in good health with all members of his family, adding that he only went into quarantine in furtherance of self-isolation rules for anyone who enters Nigeria from any other country.
“It has come to my notice that certain individuals have decided to post false news about me testing positive to Covid-19. This is a pandemic taking people’s lives in thousands so it is sad that some people want to use this to gain followers or views on their pages by spreading falsehood.
“My family and I came in from Saudi Arabia and decided to follow the government’s rule of isolation for 14 days not because any of us have the virus. We are perfectly okay and have not tested positive to the virus. Please don’t fall for the malicious messages circulating about me or my family. Stay safe, maintain social distancing,” Musa submitted.
