Bursaspor of Turkey defender, Shehu Abdullahi will aim to continue his club’s promotion drive back in the Turkish Super Lig when they tackle eighth placed Giresunspor at Merkez Stadium on Tuesday, megasportsarena.com reports.
Abdullahi will also hope to maintain the victory surge that kept Bursaspor third on the 18-team log and within the second-tier league’s promotion play-off spot on 49 points following a 1-0 win over Adanaspor at Timsah Arena on Friday night.
The 27-year-old Super Eagles’ defender-cum holding midfielder, who has scored four goals so far this season, made his 28th league outing the campaign in that game against Adanaspor, but he was replaced with seven minutes remaining in the encounter, which was Bursaspor’s 30th of the term and they now have only four games left to play.
Starting with Tuesday’s fixture, Abdullahi knows his side need to keep their feet on the throttle, even as he will be looking forward to a repeat of Friday’s game, when Tayfur Bingol’s eighth minute strike was enough to secure the win for Bursaspor.
It was his club’s second game since action resumed in Turkey, after the forced break caused by coronavirus, and Abdullahi took his social media handle to celebrate three-point for Bursaspor and thanked their supporters for backing the squad all the way, even as he urged them to stay optimistic for better results from their last four games and pick a spot in the Turkish Super Lig.
