Nigeria’s female cadet national team, Flamingos’ coach, Bankiole Olowookere has selected only two goalkeepers for his side’s upcoming battle with Egypt in the last stage of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

Megasportsarena.com gathered that, heading into Sunday’s game at Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, the Egyptians’ delegation landed in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Thursday.

Olowookere also continues marshaling his players in camp and training, as he prepares them to make the best of playing at home in the third round, first leg encounter.

It comes after the Flamingos dumped Democratic Republic of Congo 8-0 on aggregate (3-0 in Kinshasa and 5-0 in Benin City) last month, and they will reach the final round of the qualifiers if they overcome the Egyptians.

Heading into the first leg on Sunday, with the return leg billed to take place in Cairo on Friday, 30th April, Oloowokere has released a squad roster that has just two keepers, seven defenders, four midfielders and seven forwards.

The keepers are Faith Omilana and Linda Jiwuaku, while the defenders are Blessing Sunday, Comfort Folorunsho, Tumininu Adeshina, Olamide Oyinlola, Omamuzo Edafe, Miracle Usani and Confidence Nwoha.

Midfielders on the roster are Blessing Emmanuel, Taiwo Afolabi, Chidera Okenwa, Joy Igbokwe, with forwards Aminat Bello, Mercy Itimi, Alvine Da-Zossu, Anastasia Atume, Opeyemi Ajakaiye, Yetunde Ayantosho and Adaobi Okah also listed.

Ivorian match officials were earlier appointed for the game by Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the arbiters’ delegation, led by the centre referee, Natacha Gérardine Konan is also already in Abuja.

Others are Lou Djenan Danielle Ta (assistant referee 1), Ndeko Edwige Appia (assistant referee 2) and Zomadre Sonia Kore (fourth official), while the match commissioner is Mervat Hussein Sadig from Sudan.

Bankole has listed a total of 20 players from among the lot that were still in camp up till Thursday, as he prepared for the task of eliminating Egypt and reaching the final round of African qualifiers.

Top between both sides on aggregate will tango with the winner of the fixture between Ethiopia and South Africa for a place at this year’s FIFA Female Cadet Mundial, which will be staged in India from 11th to 30th October.
