Nigeria Eyes Laurent Blanc For Super Eagles Manager’s Job

0

Former Manchester United defender Laurent Blanc is wanted by Nigeria, Megasportsarena.com understands.

Morocco is also interested in the former France World Cup winner to lead the Atlas Lions World Cup campaign in Qatar.

But it appears Blanc is a man in high demand as the Nigeria Football Federation are also said to be considering appointing the Frenchman.

The Super Eagles are still on the hunt for a permanent manager after the sacking of Gernot Rohr before the Africa Cup of Nations.

Interim boss Augustine Eguavoen failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup so he was excused by the Nigeria football authorities.

Morocco could have the upper hand in appealing to Blanc as he would have the opportunity to manage in the World Cup.

Having left Qatari club Al-Rayyan earlier this season, the 56-year-old Frenchman is seeing interest from both Nigeria, who sacked Augustine Eguavoen after World Cup playoff defeat to Ghana in March, and Morocco, who are considering removing Vahid Halilhodzic despite World Cup qualification last month.
