The Super Eagles departed our shores this morning (Thursday) for Kumasi ahead of Friday’s 2022 World Cup qualifying playoff with the Black Stars of Ghana, Megasportsarena.com reports.

Players and officials of the team left on a chartered flight from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The team will hold a training session inside the Babayara stadium in Kumasi this evening to have a feel of the turf before the match.

Ghana and Nigeria last met in a World Cup qualifier in the run up to the 2002 edition in Korea and Japan with the Super Eagles dismissing the Black Stars 3-0 in the last group game in Port Harcourt.

Ghana will hosts Nigeria on March 25 for the first leg before travelling to Abuja in four days time for the second leg. The winner of the tie over two legs will qualify for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
