Leicester City of England midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi is not expected to get back into action this month, as his coach in the English Premier League club, Brendan Rodgers has fixed sometime in November for the star’s return from injury.
Although Rodgers did not give any exact date on which he expects Ndidi to resume action with The Foxes, the gaffer hinted that the former Nath Boys of Lagos and Racing Genk of Belgium battling enforcer should be back during the next international break.
Megasportsarena.com gathered that it means Ndidi will not be able to line out alongside in-form Kelechi Iheanacho against Frank Onyeka’s Brentford Town this weekend in the EPL.
However, while also heaping praises on Iheanacho for his recent burst of top-rate form, Rodgers enthused that Ndidi will bounce back better than ever.
Speaking ahead of his side’s trip to Brentford Community Stadium for Sunday’s battle with The Bees, the tactician from Northern Ireland also disclosed updates about the recovery rate for Ndidi, who had to play through the pain barrier in his last game.
That came against Burnley, during which Ndidi copped a hamstring injury and he has now been sidelined for approximately one month, thereby missing fixtures versus Spartak Moscow, Crystal Palace and Manchester United.
Ndidi was also not available for selection when the Super Eagles faced Central African Republic in the World Cup qualifiers, but Rodgers has now revealed that the prolific schemer is recovering well and could be back playing in the second week of November.
Rodgers disclosed: “Wilf isn’t too far away, but that’ll probably be around the next international break. Kelechi is now a consistent performer. He can score goals and create goals and he works very, very hard.”
