SSC Napoli of Italy striker, Victor Osimhen has enacted another milestone in the Italian Serie A, as he was recorded with the fastest speed by any player in the league’s last round of matches, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although Osimhen could not score in his side’s feisty clash with AS Roma on Sunday, he put up a yeoman’s performance that saw him hit the crossbar and have a goal ruled out, but another mark has now been added to his rating.
The latest log for the former Ultimate Strikers of Lagos, VfL Wolfsburg of Germany, Sporting Charleroi of Belgium and Lille Metropole of France hitman is that he recorded the fastest speed in the Italian top-flight during the game at Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
A report by allnigeriasoccer.com stated: “Osimhen reached a top speed of 34.69 km / h to place first in the division ahead of Juventus right-back Danilo and Udinese defender Nahuel Molina, who clocked 34.27 km / h and 33.84 km / h respectively.
“The speed record in this season’s Serie A belongs to an African player, Spezia Calcio’s Angola international center forward M’Bala Nzola, who reached a speed of 35.56 km / h on matchday six.
“Blessed with pace and physicality, Osimhen has been able to justify his 70 million euro price tag in the new season after an indifferent maiden campaign with the Blues.
“The 22-year-old has appeared in all the matches played by Napoli in the Serie A with the exception of the 2-1 win at Genoa, scoring five goals.
“And he has impressed more in Europe with four goals in three matches – one of which he started.”
