Lille Metropole of France striker, Victor Osimhen has expressed profound gratitude to all people in Nigeria and across the world that sent him condolence messages on the death of his father, who was laid to eternal rest on Tuesday, megasportsarena.com reports.
In the wake of the burial of Elder Patrick Osimhen, who passed on late in May aged 80, the late octogenarian’s son also stated his appreciation to everyone that turned up for the funeral that was staged according to Christian rites at a private cemetery in Ojodu area of Lagos.
The interment at Omega Memorial Garden marked the final respects for Elder Osimhen, who breathed his last on May 23 after a brief illness and the Lille striker, who is one of seven children the late patriarch left behind, said he and his siblings – Andrew, Samson, Gloria, Esther, Joy and Blessing – cannot say thank you enough to all well-wishers at home and abroad.
The Super Eagles’ youngster took to social media to reveal the emotions held by every member of the Osimhen family from Uromi in Edo State, even as observers pointed out that the siblings will now have to stick even closer together, having earlier lost their mother, Christiana, after a brief illness in 2001.
Osimhen posted; “The family would like to take this opportunity to express our sincerest appreciation for the thoughtfulness presented to us and love we have been given during our time of bereavement…”
