Spartak Moscow of Russia winger, Victor Moses missed action with his club for the first time this season, as he was ruled out by injury, megasportsarena.com reports.
In Moses’ absence, his Moscow-based Russian Premier League side eked out a 1-0 victory over FC Ural, courtesy of Roman Zobnin’s 27th minute winner.
It marked a slight setback for the 30-year-old former Super Eagles’ star, who ended a nine-year association with Chelsea of England last month by signing a two-year contract with Spartak.
However, Spartak’s coach, Rui Vitória could not include the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner in his squad for the match on Saturday because Moses is still recovering from injury, but he was happy seeing the Muscovites return to winning ways.
Moses has been out since colliding with an opponent during the first half of his team’s 2-1 home loss to Nizhny Novgorod in week three, then missed his side’s 2-0 loss to Benfica of Portugal in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round last week.
Vitória will now hope for a speedy return for Moses, who was outstanding during pre-season, as he scored in four consecutive matches, but is yet to open his account after four competitive appearances in all competitions.
