‘I showed them again!’, were the first words of world 100m hurdles record holder, Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan after smashing the Commonwealth Games record on Sunday morning at the Alexander stadium in Birmingham, reports Megasportsarena.com
She proved that what she did in Oregon was no fluke, and the commentator brilliantly captured the moment, “she has forgotten how to lose”.
The petit hurdler who shattered the world record just nine days ago at the World Championships in Oregon left nobody in doubt about her prowess in the event as she led other competitors to win once again.
Michael Johnson, the eight-time world champion, faced a backlash from Nigerians and athletics fans worldwide in his attempt to demean the Nigerians achievement after he questioned the timing system at the World Athletics Championships following Amusan’s unbelievable (12.12s) feat.
Amusan was under massive pressure in the final to back up her earlier performance and did so running an even faster time of 12.06s, however the wind was slightly over the legal limit.
The 25 year old Nigerian is a woman on fire and looks not just unstoppable at the moment, but also unbeatable.
