Super Eagles’ stand-in captain, William Troost-Ekong has declared emphatically that his side will go all out to defeat Sudan in their second group match at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, because they have everything that is needed to get victory.

Megasportsarena.com reports reports that, while casting a look ahead of Saturday’s game in Garoua, Cameroon, the Watford of England stopper admitted that Sudan will aim to cause an upset by defeating the three-time African champions, but stressed that Eagles are prime to win.

The towering stopper, who previously played for the youth team of Tottenham Hotspur of England as well as Dodrecht of Netherlands, Haugesund of Norway, KAA Gent of Belgium, Bursaspor of Turkey and Udinese of Italy stressed that all three points are their target.

He acknowledged that victory would automatically take Nigeria into the round of 16 with a match to spare and Troost-Ekong enthused that the Eagles will pull off the feat once his teammates replicate the defensive performance they gave against Egypt.

He noted that a lot of team work came to play during that game on Tuesday in Garoua and, while affirming that they deserve all the hype that is trailing that feat, Troost-Ekong added that another victory would be theirs for the taking, once they do not to get carried away and treat every game like a final.

Troost-Ekong told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN): “Every game for us is going to be a big game. We are going to approach it same way as we approached Egypt.

“Game by game we are going to try and get further and further so we’ll keep it cool, keep it humble, work hard and I think we’ve got all the things that we need to get a result on Saturday

“The first game was very important, I think we had a good outing, the boys showed well great determination and most importantly to get the result.

“Of course every game I want to get a clean sheet so it was a team performance. I think the whole team defended well against Egypt. They didn’t have any chances.”
