Former Arsenal of England youth team defender, Tobi Omole is inching closer to a regular spot in the first team at fellow-London-based English Premier League outfit, Tottenham Hotspur, megasportsarena.com reports.
This is sequel to reports out of Queensland indicating that Spurs’ coach, Nuno Espírito Santo set aside some time to personally watch Omole during the international break, which is the first for the fresh season.
While many of the club’s top players were away for their various national team assignments, the Portuguese gaffer took aside the versatile left-footed central defender and monitored him closely during Friday’s session at Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre in Enfield.
Santo decided to invite some outstanding academy players to train with the first team and make up the numbers in the absence of the main players, with view towards maintaining the early momentum for his side, who are top of the table after three rounds.
Omole is now part of the squad preparing for their next competitive game in the EPL, which will be a London derby away to Crystal Palace, and the Nigerian-born lad will hope to be included in Spurs’ squad for the fixture.
It would be a massive step forward for Omole, who was with Arsenal for six years before he was surprisingly released in the summer of 2020, but he has since gone the distance in three of four matches played by Tottenham’s youth squad in the new season.
