Chelsea of England striker, Tammy Abraham is said to be in ‘two minds’ about the transfer offer from his club’s English Premier League fellow-London-based rivals, Arsenal, as he is thorn between accepting the move or rejecting it.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the offer has been on the table since early June but, with another month already gathering steam, a lid is yet to be placed on the deal.
In the same vein, contrasting media reports keeps emerging over the possibility of Abraham making the switch across the streets in the British capital, with some suggesting that he is eager to make the move, while many others see it as a ruse.
One of the reports by British tabloid, The Sun indicates that Chelsea are seeking a £40m fee for the Nigerian-born England international, but an update revealed that The Blues are now ready to slash their asking price to £30m.
This comes at a point startling information out of Emirates Stadium revealed that Arsenal have transfer-listed six of their senior players, with The Daily Express reporting that The Gunners aim to generate more transfer funds this summer.
Among the lot, Hector Bellerin is arguably the most significant player to be put up for sale, with Inter Milan allegedly waiting in the wings to end the Spaniard’s ten year stay at Emirates, where Arsenal’s technical director, Edu is also trying to flog Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac.
While Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ future with Mikel Arteta’s side also appears to be finite, his former academy colleague, Reiss Nelson is allegedly wanted by former Arsenal captain and new Crystal Palace manager, Patrick Vieira at Selhurst Park.
Brazilian ace, Willian’s move to Arsenal is a deal which simply hasn’t worked for all parties, though the Brazilian could be hard to shift on his mammoth £200,000-per-week wages, while Eddie Nketiah also looks to be available to the highest bidder, with the 22-year-old entering the final 12 months of his contract, and the lad to replace him could jolly well be Abraham.
Abraham showed Arteta his abilities on Sunday as he scored the winner at Emirates Stadium during a pre-season fixture, which apparently shot him higher into the radar of The Gunners, ahead another London-based side, Tottenham Hotspur and his former club, Aston Villa.
However, a to reputable West Ham insider, ExWHUemployee has pointed out that the former loan signing at Swansea City and Bristol City could be heading to Arsenal instead, as The Gunners are leading the race to prise him away from West London.
This permutation, though, is based mostly on reports that Abraham is unwilling to ply his trade with The Hammers at London Stadium, with the player having his heart set on a move to join his boyhood club at Emirates, despite their long standing rivalry with his current employers.
Speaking on The West Ham Way Patreon site, ExWHUemployee disclosed: “The move for Tammy Abraham doesn’t appear to be happening at the moment.
“The player doesn’t really want to join the club. I think he has his eyes set on Arsenal regardless of whether we meet his wages demands, wages demands that have also been described as excessive.”
