Aston Villa’s Nigerian-born striker, Tammay Abraham might not be on his way back to his parent club, Chelsea, as he has caught the interest of RB Leipzig of Germany, who are said to be planning a summer transfer bid for the in-form hitman.
Abraham has hit a rich vein on form on loan from Chelsea to Villa, where he has broken several club and English Championship records, while also lead the team on the verge of promotion to the English Premier League, such that Leipzig would also love to have a feel of his talent.
The German club, who play Nigeria’s youth national team, Flying Eagles, in a tune-up friendly match on Friday, previously had Everton’s Ademola Lookman on loan from The Toffees, but they are now desirous of a full contract for Abraham in the coming month.
British tabloid, The Sun reports that Leipzig are very keen on Abraham, but are cautiously waiting to see how his promotion bid with Villa goes before they launch a formal summer bid for the England striker.
However, Leipzig’s aspirations could be dented by reports that Villa will look to make Abraham’s loan signing permanent if he takes them back to the English Premier League.
The Villans will battle Derby County in the promotion play-offs this weekend, after Abraham took a huge step towards helping them back to the top-flight by firing home a winning penalty in their shoot-out victory over West Bromwich Albion.
Nonetheless, Leipzig have made the 21-year-old Abraham one of their top targets, and they are willing to offer him a £25m deal into German Bundesliga, to join vastly-improved fellow-England youngster, Jadon Sancho among the array of fast-rising British talent s now in Germany.
