Stephen Odey Comments On Reported Celtic Interest

Randers FC striker Stephen Odey has revealed he would be open to a move to Celtic this summer after reported early interest from Ange Postecoglou’s side, reports Megasportsarena.com.

The 24-year-old has experience of playing in Nigeria, Belgium, France and is currently playing his football in Denmark with Randers FC.

Having originally made the loan move to Scandinavia last season from Genk, Randers quickly snapped up the Nigerian internationalist on a permanent deal.

The striker also appears to have impressed several clubs during that temporary spell in 2021/22, including Ange Postecoglou and Celtic.

Whilst no official bid had been placed, Randers sporting director Soren Pedersen was quick to comment on the supposed interest.

Odey himself has become the latest player to be quizzed on the interest of both Celtic and Glasgow rivals Rangers, revealing he would be open to a move.

However, the striker also stated that he is happy at his current side and wouldn’t let the interest disturb his progress.

He said: “These are big clubs, and obviously, it’s something that I want to be open to. But I’m at Randers FC, and right now, that’s all that matters. As long as I haven’t been presented with anything concrete, as I said, I won’t let myself be disturbed by it.

Odey continued, saying: “If the right club comes, Randers FC has no option but to let me go. But I am happy to be at Randers FC, and it does not change because there are some rumours about other clubs. For me, it’s about preparing for the new season with the team I’m a part of.”
