Liverpool’s Nigerian-born winger, Sheyi Ojo is set to stay put at Anfield until 2024, as the former England youth international is on the verge of signing a new five-year contract.
Although he has been out on loan at Reims of France for the outgoing season, Ojo, who was a member of England’s 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup-winning squad is highly rated by The Reds, and the Merseyside club do not want to let him go.
Megasportsarena.com can report that, with Ojo said to be high on the spotlight of future prospects at Anfield, The Reds have moved to tie him down for much longer.
However, a report by British newspaper, The Guardian states that The Reds will again loan Ojo to another less-demanding club, after he puts pen to paper on a new long-term deal.
The 21-year-old dark-skinned winger endured a tough loan spell with Reims this season, but is said to have attracted Glasgow Rangers, where he is now being strongly tipped to move.
That would be a testy destination for Ojno, as fellow-Nigerian-born Reds’ lad and co-Youth Mundial gold medalist, Ovie Ejaria failed to shine during a recent spell with The Gers, along with Rio 2016 Olympic Games bronze medalist, Sadiq Umar in the unfolding campaign.
However, Rangers’ manager Steven Gerrard is said to be a keen admirer of Ojo, from their days together at Anfield, and the former Liverpool captain has now lined up the Scottish side for the academy graduate.
