Sevilla have entered the race to sign 25 year old Almeria star striker Umar Sadiq, Megasportsarena.com reports.
The lanky Nigerian forward, who is arguably the best player at Almeria and one of the deadliest strikers in Spanish football, scored 20 goals in 38 La Liga appearances for the Rojiblancos last season, but the goals were not enough to guide them to the Spanish Primera division.
Umar has however been imperious in front of goal this season, scoring ten goals in 22 Laliga2 appearances, with three involvements in three goals (2 goals and an assist).
The former Partizan Belgrade striker was linked to Barcelona and Newcastle last season, but nothing concrete emerged from those talks.
Under coach Lopetegui, Sevilla have proven themselves to be title contenders.
They sit second, four points behind Real Madrid and Umar’s addition to the side might give them the vital push they need to claim the La Liga title.
