Old Firm clubs-Rangers and Celtic-have made enquiries about the Stephen Odey’s availability from Danish side Randers.

Although no offers have been made for the former MFMFC striker- but his club’s chief has refused to deny that both Glasgow clubs ARE interested.

It’s being reported that Gers director Ross Wilson had held preliminary discussions regarding the possible signing of the 24-year old Nigeria internationa who began his career with Mountain of Fire, before moving to Swiss side Zurch and then Genk in Belgium.

Odey, who bagged 13 goals in 32 games in Danish football last season.  is currently under contract at Randers until 2024, having only just moved permanently after an initial loan deal.

Randers sporting director Soren Pedersen has confirmed that they have received – and rejected – a bid for the three-times capped Nigeria international, but revealed it was NOT from either Glasgow club.

However, the chief refused to deny that there was interest from Celtic and Rangers.

He also opened the door to potentially selling Odey, by admitting they would talk if an offer was right for his club.

Responding directly to a question if there was interest from the Old Firm sides, Pedersen told Danish outlet bold: “It can happen easily.

“There are many clubs that have shown interest in him because he is a good player, but there is nothing concrete from there.

“We are happy for him and it is not something where we say that he should be sold in this window.

“He has a great sporting value, so if we were to say yes to something, it must be both the right club and the right amount.”

It had been mooted that a fee of 30 million Danish kroner, so around £2.5m, could be the asking price – but Pedersen denied this was the case.
