Watford of England January signing, Samuel Kalu is yet to find is feet in the English Premier League and had another evening to forget on Saturday, as he stayed on The Hornets’ bench and watched his colleagues amble in defeat.

With Kalu and William Troost-Ekong on The Hornets’ bench all evening long, Watford’s dismal home form continued in a 2-1 defeat by Burnley at Vicarage Road.

Megasportsarena.com reports that, despite having Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure play all 90 minutes of the home encounter, Watford slumped to their 11th straight loss at home.

It is a new top-flight record for The Hornets, who also have Peter Oghenekaro Etebo in their ranks, but the former Warri Wolves battler was not listed for the game, in which Dennis fired blanks all evening long, while Kalu and Troost-Ekong watched from the sidelines in dismay.

The opening goal came in the eighth minute when Kiko Femenía’s cross was struck against the bar by Juraj Kucka but rebounded against James Tarkowski and ended up in the net.

With seven minutes to go, The Clarets got a deserved equaliser through Jack Cork and they turned the game around thanks to Josh Brownhil who found the bottom corner in the 86th minute.

Same evening in the EPL, this time at St Mary’s Stadium, Eberechi Eze netted one of the goals, while Wilfred Zaha scored a stoppage time winner, as Crystal Palace came from behind to defeat Southampton 2-1.

The Saints took the lead through Romeu’s ninth minute header but Eze equalised with a low strike in the 59th minute.

There were also thrills in the lower division, as Faustino Anjorin and Malcolm Ebiowei opened their goals accounts in the English Championship.

Ebiowei was the star performer as already relegated Derby County defeated Blackpool 2-0 at Bloomfield Road, where he struck 17 minutes from time.

Ebiowei opened the scoring when he took advantage of a loose ball to finish after Sibley’s shot was pushed away by The Seasiders’ goalkeeper, Chris Maxwell, his first goal as a professional.

The former Golden Eaglets’ invitee then turned provider in the 82nd minute as he whipped in an inviting free-kick which Eiran Cashin powered beyond the goalkeeper.

Ebiowei’s first senior goal came in his 15th appearance for the Rams and after 849 minutes of action, while Anjorin took 14 minutes to double Huddersfield Town’s advantage.

The Nigerian-born England youth international got off the bench to help The Terriers secure a 2-1 win away to Coventry City, as he converted from the spot in the 79th minute.
