Rasaq Alamu Attracts January Transfer Interest From Fulham, 4 Others

Chippenham Town midfielder, Rasaq Alamu could become the latest Nigerian-born player to link forces with Fulham of England, following interest being shown in his services by The Cottagers, who had as many as four of his compatriots on their cards last season.

The exit of Ademola Lookman and Josh Maja has only reduced the number of Nigerians at Fulham to two, as Tosin Adarabioyo and Josh Onomah continue waxing strong in the English Championship side, who are now keen on adding Alamu to their cards.

Megasportsarena.com reports that this is sequel to emerging reports indicating that moguls at Craven Cottage have shortlisted the Ireland youth international among the options they will pursue in the upcoming January transfer window.

The quest has been set in motion mostly sequel to Alamu’s excellent displays for Chippenham’s under-23 team, such that his performances with The Bluebirds have not gone unnoticed by clubs higher up the football pyramid.

A report by allnigeriasoccer.com noted that, though Alamu, who is blessed with deep levels of youthful exuberance, high grade physical presence and immense aerial ability, is close to making his first team debut for Chippenham, he could be on his way out next month.

That would be if all forecast surrounding the quest Fulham and four other lower division English clubs are making about his signature see light of the day, especially as the Nigerian-born Irish youngster appears keen on making the step up from non-league football into the next spotlight.

The report added: “Regarded as one of the most exciting players in the Surburban League, the highly-rated Irish-Nigerian player has tallied an impressive ten goals in thirteen appearances so far this season.

“Championship high-flyers Fulham sent one of their talent spotters to run the rule over Alamu in last month’s fixture between Chippenham Town U23s and Corinthian, and he received a glowing report from the scout after scoring a hat-trick.

“Forest Green Rovers, Bristol Rovers, Swindon Town and Cheltenham Town scouts are also aware of Alamu and the aforementioned clubs could firm up their interest in the midfielder in the coming months.”
