Raphael Onyedika has been named as the young player of the year in the Danish Super League, reports Megasportsarena.com.
The 21-year-old Nigerian midfielder had a strong debut season in the Super League, and has now received great recognition for his achievements.
This is a prize awarded by an expert panel in the Divisional Association to a player born in 2001 or later.
The former Danish champions lost their star man Frank Onyeka to English Premier League side Brentford last summer, and Onyedika was brought in to fill his big shoes.
An excited Onyedika said: “It means a lot to me to get this award. It’s always nice with recognition, even if it’s the team’s performance that matters most to me. I am happy to have played so many matches and been a regular part of the team.
“The season has gone much better than I had dared to hope for. There must be a big thank you to the coaches and my teammates who have been good at helping me so that I have always been able to improve,” he adds.
Raphael Onyedika returned to FC Midtjylland last summer after a loan spell at FC Fredericia, and the young Nigerian achieved 31 Superliga matches for the Wolves last season.
