AS Torino of Italy defender, Ola Aina is awaiting details of what is expected to be fresh tactical direction under a new coach at the Turin-based Italian Serie A club, following the management’s decision to do away with the services of the man he has played under since first arriving on loan from Chelsea of England.
Megasportsarena.com can report that Aina has found the going tough in only his first full season with The Maroons, as his ever-present status in the squad, during his time on loan from The Blues, has turned into paltry spells, even as the club now struggle for form, after signing him to a full contract last summer.
Since then, it has been torrid time for player and club, such that Aina has been missing from the spotlight since the start of the current campaign, while Torino have fallen in their prospects over the past five months, and the team’s top brass eventually wielded the big axe on Monday.
Consequently, Aina and his colleagues will now await the next line of technical direction and gameplan under the latest gaffer to take charge of coaching matters in the midstream club, as Walter Mazzarri was axed in the wake of Toro’s 4-0 thrashing by Lecce.
The result on Sunday left Torino sitting 12th, 11 points clear of the drop zone, leaving the club’s hierarchy to replace Mazzarri with Moreno Longo, a former Frosinone and Pro Vercelli handler, who came through the youth system at Toro, with 31 games under his charge before moving to Lucchese, but he is now back to call the shots for Aina et al in Turin.
