Former Super Eagles’ midfielder, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi has become the fourth Nigerian player to hit it off with SonderjyskE of Denmark, and the club’s top brass are singing his praises, megasportsarena.com reports.
Onazi has already hit the ground running in the squad that also has Rilwan Hassan, Adigun Salami and Rabiu Afolabi, much to the sheer delight of the Danish SuperLiga table-toppers.
Hassan has totaled 34 appearances for SønderjyskE since joining them from SuperLiga rivals, FC Midtjylland, while Afolabi and Salami appeared in five and three matches respectively, such that SonderjyskE are now expecting even bigger an impact from Onazi.

Onazi was handed his debut in Monday’s 1-1 draw with Aarhus GF, coming off the bench to replace Anders Jacobsen in the 88th minute – his first competitive match since taking to the field against Trabzonspor on July 13, which is welcome development from when he first joined SonderjyskE.
At the onset, he had been was lacking match fitness and he was not involved in back-to-back matches against Bröndby IF and Randers but featured for the reserve team against Vejle BK Res on October 19 in a bid to step up his fitness, such that his full debut has now sent bolts of excitement through his new club’s rank and file
The club stated: “Congratulations to Ogenyi Onazi, who made his debut for SønderjyskE Monday evening 👏. Onazi is the fourth Nigerian in the light blue shirt – the other three are Rilwan Hassan, Adigun Salami and Rabiu Afolabi 👕🇳🇬.”
