PSV Eindhoven of Netherlands youngster, Nonso Madueke could become the next Nigerian to star for Borussia Dortmund of Germany, as the Bundesliga club that once had Sunday Ogorchukwu Oliseh and Victor Nosa Ikpeba are reportedly in the hunt for his signature.
Megasportsarena.com gathered that Madueke’s sterling form with PSV in the past season attracted top shots at BVB, and they are now moving fast to snatch him ahead of a flurry of suitors in the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old Madueke, who had stops at the youth teams of Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur of England prior to his switch to PSV in the summer of 2018, has a contract with the Eredivisie giants until the end of the 2023/24 season.
However, that has not stopped Dortmund from seeking a deal for the youngster and the report out of Deutschland indicates further that BVB aim to see Madueke replace Manchester United-bound winger, Jadon Sancho.
United have already agreed personal terms with Sancho’s Nigerian agent, Emeka Obasi and have been told by Dortmund to meet their asking price of ninety million euros plus add-ons for the deal to go through.
A Dortmund-based regional daily newspaper, Ruhr Nachrichten added that Madeueke, who played for England’s youth team at the recent U21 EURO, is a candidate to replace Sancho and would cost in the region of fifteen million euros.
The countdown is now on for Madueke, an inverted left-footed winger, who can also be deployed as a center forward, from which he excelled in his breakout season at PSV, with nine goals and eight assists in 32 appearances across all competitions.
