Egyptian Premier League side Tala’a El-Gaish have signed Nigerian youngster Victory Beniangba on loan until the end of the season and the kid started his journey with aplomb.
Victory was handed his debut against Egyptian champions Zamalek in the League Cup on Tuesday, and he didn’t disappoint.
His powerful header handed the military club a win over the White Knights, to gift them their second win of the season and the first one in the League Cup.
El-Gaish are struggling at the bottom of the league table, where they sit third to last with just five points collected in seven games, under new head coach Tarek El-Ashry.
The Egyptian Super Cup champions have the worst goal-scoring record in the league this season, managing to score just twice.
The 18-year-old started his professional career in his home country with Bayelsa United, with whom he participated in the CAF Confederation Cup last season.
Despite not going past the playoff stage, Victory was able to make his mark after scoring a historic winner against Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the first leg of the second qualifying round.
Victory Beniangba was contracted on a six- month loan deal, with an option to buy.
