Ndidi Seeks Second Opinion On Injury Verdict, Rodgers Admits Uncertainty

Leicester City of England midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi is seeking a second opinion on the medical verdict that ruled him out of the season due to an injury he copped on Thursday, megasportsarena.com reports.

The former Nath Boys of Lagos and Racing Genk of Belgium ace bowed out of action for The Foxes against Stade Rennes of France in the UEFA Conference League, following which he coach, Brendan Rodgers declared him out for the season.

However, Rodgers has come out with a heartwarming update, as the gaffer from Northern Ireland admitted he is not certain about the state of fitness of the Super Eagles’ star and disclosed that will await a second look at the complaint.

The latest angle from Rodgers came four days after the holding midfielder limped out against Rennes and was not dressed for The Foxes’ 2-1 win over Frank Ogochukwu Onyeka’s Brentford last weekend.

That raised apprehension for Super Eagles’ fans and Leicester supporters, as the 25-year-old Ndidi has scored two goals and provided one assist in 30 appearances for The Foxes this season.

However, Ndidi, who missed 18 games of the past campaign due to injury, is now set to visit a specialist to determine his injury status, though Rodgers conceded that he is not sure about the star’s chances of playing again this term.

Rodgers stated: “Wilf is not so good. He is getting a second opinion on that. Whether he will play for the rest of the season or not, we are not quite sure, which is a real shame for us.”
