Ndah Receives Eguavoen’s Assurance On Future Super Eagles’ Invitations

Orlando Pirates of South Africa defender, Olisa Ndah has received comforting words of assurance from Super Eagles’ interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen that he remains relevant for the Nigerian national team.

This is in spite of the absence of Ndah’s name from the list of invitees for next Friday’s World Cup qualification play-off against Ghana, which has left many observers wondering if the former Akwa United of Uyo stopper is no longer needed by Eguavoen.

Megasportsarena.com reports that, in reaction to those insinuations, ‘Egu’ declared that he still has immense plans in line for the battler, whose was initially recommended to him by Rivers State commissioner for sports, Boma Iyaye.

While pointing out that he watched Ndah on a number of occasions during his days with ‘The Promise Keepers’ in Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), ‘Cerezo’ stressed that the lad remains on his mind.

He, however, hinted that the return to full fitness by Glasgow Rangers of Scotland defender, Leon Aderemi Balogun blocked another Eagles’ call-up for Ndah, who was added to Nigeria’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations list as a replacement for the then recuperating stopper.

Ndah, who has impressed for Pirates since returning from Cameroon, helping the club post five clean sheets in nine appearances, made his competitive senior debut for Nigeria off the bench against Guinea-Bissau, but he will not be there next weekend in Kumasi.

Eguavoen told Elegbete TV: “That young boy in South Africa is unfortunately not on the list now, but that’s not to say he’s out, talking about Ndah.

“He’s another good player, I saw him in the League here. He’s doing well in Orlando Pirates.

“He went to AFCON but he’s not presently in the list. That does not mean he’s not going to part of this team as time goes on.”
