Baba Yara Stadium To Host Ghana v Nigeria World Cup Playoff Match

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi will now host the the first leg of the World Cup playoff match between Ghana and Nigeria, Megasportsarena can confirm.

The game which was earlier scheduled for the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on March 25, was moved to Kumasi due to the poor state of the Accra pitch.

The Cape Coast Sports Stadium was rejected and the game moved to Ghana’s favorite home ground.

The Ghana Football Association stated in a press release:

“The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has granted a one match approval for Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to host the World Cup Qatar 2022 play-off match between Ghana and Nigeria. The approval comes after a CAF Licensing Inspector visited the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last Sunday to inspect the facility.”

Ghana will now play Nigeria in the 1st leg on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 19:30GMT at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
