Arsenal of England youth team player, Joseph Olowu is expected to land at Nigeria’s youth national team, Flying Eagles’ camp in Poland with 24 hours, megasportsarena.com reports.
The Flying Eagles are currently engaged in action at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland, but Olowu is not thinking of gatecrashing into the squad after their first two matches of the championship, but to lay ground for an invitation in future.
Information on offer out of Poland indicates that Olowu had actually been in line to get a place in the Flying Eagles squad to the ongoing competition, but he was eventually ruled out by injury.
However, in order to confirm that he has truly and formally switched his allegiance to Nigeria from England, Olowu has opted to travel to Poland in order to see officials and lay ground for an invitation to the under-23 team, Olympic Eagles.
The youthful central defender will now land in Poland on Wednesday, few hours before the Flying Eagles battle Ukraine in their last match of Group D at the Youth Mundial.
It was gathered further that Olowu will be accompanied by his father, in order to concretise talks with Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials, before they watch the under-20 team tango Ukraine in Bielsko-Biała.
