Ostersunds FK of Sweden striker, Jordan Attah Kadiri can look forward to a possible future career at Manchester City of England, following a deal he recently signed with the English Premier League club’s owners, even as he will for now line out in the colours of Lommel SK of Belgium, megasportsarena.com gathered.
This is sequel to reports indicating that Kadiri has gained a strong and promising base for future thrills at City, following a contract-sharing agreement that sees him attached to The Citizens in principle, but he will have to play for Lommel for the time being, after which he stands to find his way over to Etihad Stadium sometime along the line.
He could be on his way to Etihad once he does well and is able to convince The Citizens that he is worthy of a full time stint in the EPL, sequel to confirmation of his sealed agreement with City’s owners, who then handed him over to their Belgian satellite club to accord him a less demanding developmental base where he can further develop next season.
The 20 year-old former Nasarawa United of Lafia attacker, who is expected in Belgium this week for a medical, is excited to finally pull off the deal, following several weeks of negotiations, as the Belgian First Division B team finally reached an agreement with Ostersunds for his transfer.
Having agreed personal terms with Lommel, Kadiri is expected to append his signature to a four-year contract upon his arrival in Belgium, where he is said to have caught the attention of some other clubs as well, but he ended up facing only one direction because the team that eventually got his signature are owned by City Football Group.
Despite the development, Kadiri was still included in Ostersunds’ Swedish league fixture against Helsingborg on Monday, as the club’s coach, Amir Azrafshan felt it would be befitting to send him forth to Lommel with a competitive outing on their home ground, such that the youngster was amazingly included in the starting line-up for what may potentially be his last game for OFK.
SportExpressen reported that the striker is scheduled for a routine medical in Belgium after the game against Helsingborg, as the promising lad, who only joined Ostersunds last mid-season and has scored six goals in 13 matches for the club, including two this season plus one assist, moves on to a new phase of his career, even at a point his beloved club are struggling for results.
A credible source told SCORENigeria: “Lommel are a big step up for the proven goal scorer as he has a bigger platform to showcase himself. His exit will be a huge body blow to the Swedish club, whose status in the top flight is under scrutiny at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
“For the new season, they will be gunning for promotion to the top league in Belgium. During his short time with OFK, Kadiri scored an impressive six goals in 13 games.”
