Watford of England striker, Isaac Success is bound to stay put at Vicarage Road beyond his summer, as his hope of getting a timely transfer elsewhere is being blocked by his ongoing battle with yet another injury, megasportsarena.com reports.
Information on offer from Queensland indicates that Success, who played only sparingly for Watford last season in the English Premier League and hardly featured in their unsuccessful battles against relegation, is still recovering from a complaint that trailed him all through the campaign.
That has derailed all his plans of leaving the club before the close of the summer transfer window to avoid playing for them in the less-glamorous second-tier English Championship, but he will now have to wait until at least January 2021, when the next transfer window will open.
It will accord Success the chance of playing alongside Tom Dele-Badshiru and new signing, William Troost-Ekong this season with The Hornets, but the product of BJ Foundation of Benin City, who was part of Nigeria’s winning squad at UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup, would have preferred moving on.
So it appeared to be when he switched agents earlier this year, ostensibly to accord him the best conditions or a move away from relegated Watford this summer, but his espied transfer will no longer be possible because the injury-prone all-action former Udinese of Italy as well as Granada and Malaga of Spain striker is still in the process of rehabilitation from injury.
The report adds: “Success had a frustrating spell at Watford last season, culminating in just seven appearances of which only two were starts, as a result of fitness concerns, and has not been utilised by manager Vladimir Ivić in the ongoing campaign.
“Watford had high hopes for the Super Eagles striker, signing him for a then club record transfer fee of fifteen million euros from Granada in the summer of 2016. Success has three years to run on his contract with the Championship club.
“The 2013 U17 World Cup winner was shipped out on loan to Malaga for the second half of the 2017-2018 season as he sought more game time with a view to a possible inclusion in the Super Eagles squad to the World Cup in Russia.”
