New signing at HaDjija Handball Club of Benin Republic, Hakeem Salami has declared that he wants to achieve many victories and glorious moments at his new base, where he believes he can make a huge statement about the experiences he has gained over the years.
Megasportsarena.com reports that, speaking against the backdrop of his arrival from Lagos Seasiders HC, Salami added that he is not in Benin Republic to represent himself alone, but to show the quality that the game has gained in Nigeria.
He admitted having gained a lot from playing in the domestic league for a number of years, which he believes aided his growth and propelled his career to a greater height, after emerging on the scene in a spirited season that earned him an invitation to the under-17 national team.
The enterprising lad, who has also previously featured for TojeMarine, promised to be a good ambassador of Nigerian handball and boost the image of players from his country by doing well in Benin Republic.
While stressing that he wants to make a huge impact with his new team, Salami added that the wealth of experience he gathered in the national team and playing actively in the Prudent Energy Handball League will help him stand out during his time with HaDjija.
“I am excited making this move to HaDjija Handball Club because it will give me the opportunity to sell myself to the world.
“I want to make a huge statement in my new club that they made no mistake by signing me. I am not only going to play handball in Benin but to represent Nigeria handball well.
“The Prudent Energy Handball League in Nigeria has made me a better player,” Salami told www.aclsports.com.
