Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed summer signing Gavin Bazunu would feature for Saints in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Keeper Bazunu was brought in for a reported, initial £12million from Manchester City back in June.
It will be the first time a St Mary’s home crowd will get to witness the keeper in Saints colours when they take on Spanish outfit Villarreal (3pm).
“Gavin will play on Saturday,” confirmed Hasenhuttl, who opted to start Alex McCarthy in goal for Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Monaco.
Saints have brought in six fresh faces over the summer, with the likes of Armel Bella Kotchap, Joe Aribo, Romeo Lavia and Mateusz Lis also recruited.
Asked whether he was expecting any more fresh additions by the weekend, the boss replied: “We have 36 days of the transfer window left – it’s quite long, eh?
“We don’t have to hurry but be sure we will bring players in.”
