FC Midtjylland of Denmark midfielder, Frank Onyeka is now facing a race against time for his plausible transfer to Brentford of England to become a reality, as moves in that direction ae still dragging on laboriously.
Megasporstarena.com reports that, in contrast with initial reports that it would be smooth sailing from Midtjylland to Brentford, because both clubs are owned by the same tycoon, bottleneck in England is still holding the deal up.
Latest information on the deal reveals that Brentford continue to process the paperwork for the much-expected deal that would take Onyeka to English Premier League newcomer, who have reached a club-to-club agreement with Midtjylland to sign the Super Eagles’ fringe player.
Onyeka was a key player for The Wolves in the past two seasons, during which time he starred for them with aplomb in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and Danish Superliga.
Those points pointed in the direction of his work permit application England going smoothly through, with the technical crew at Midtjylland also tilting in that direction by leaving him out of the scheme of things in their plans for next season.
On Sunday, Onyeka was not on the plane to Poland, where Midtjylland are holding a training camp until July 11 and the official word from the club is that he was not selected because he is still on holiday.
However, that has not stopped a shade of doubt continue hanging over a successful switch for the 23-year-old Onyeka, who arrived at Midtjylland at the age of 18, but grew rapidly through their academy setup and went on to feature in the UEFA Youth League in 2016/17 and got his first team debut the following season.
