Brentford of England midfielder, Frank Onyeka got off The Bees’ bench on Saturday and played a key role in helping the English Premier League newcomers steal a dramatic 2-0 win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the former FC Midtjylland of Denmark battler got six points out of ten for his efforts, as Brentford earned their first top-flight away win in 74 years.
His efforts were pivotal in ensuring the visitors achieved victory at Molineux Stadium, despite playing the majority of the second half with 10 men.
Ivan Toney put Brentford ahead from the spot (28) after he had been hauled down in the box by Marcal, and he then turned provider for Bryan Mbeumo to tap home at the far post in the 35th minute.
Adama Traore hit the crossbar from a deflected shot in between the goals but Wolves were otherwise flat in front of goal, failing to register a shot on target despite a numerical advantage.
Shandon Baptiste was sent off for two needless yellow cards, but it was Brentford that game’s came closest to scoring the third goal, as Mbeumo hit the crossbar in the final minute.
The result means Brentford move up into the EPL’stop half, registering their third clean sheet from five games this season, while Wolves have just three points from a possible 15 under Bruno Lage.
It also means that Brentford are the 14th promoted side in Premier League history to accrue 8+ points after five games, and the first since Wolves in 2018-19, with all 13 of those previous sides avoiding relegation in that campaign.
