Chelsea of England youth team player, Faustino Anjorin is receiving an eye of admiration from The Blues’ coach, Thomas Tuchel, as he German tactician admitted he is impressed with the Nigerian-born lad’s progress at Stamford Bridge.
After getting up close with Anjorin on several occasions during the senior squad’s training sessions, Tuchel has now added the youngster to his roll call of promising lads at the London-based club, thereby raising hope that he could get a full promotion to the main sector in the off-season.
Megasportsarena.com reports that a strong hint in this direction was provided when the Chelsea boss name checked ‘Tino’ before the visit to Aston Villa for their penultimate game of the season.
Since the appointment of Tuchel on January 26, Anjorin has been named in Chelsea’s matchday squad on four occasions, with his opportunities increasing after making the roster against Atlético Madrid of Spain in the UEFA Champions League as well as versus Fulham, Arsenal and Barnsley on the domestic front.
Tuchel has now hinted at the possibility of him promoting Anjorin to the first team, with the winger catching his eye in training and showing strong signs of breaking into Chelsea’s mainstream.
Tuchel admitted that he was impressed with the way Chelsea are building for the future and name checked Anjorin as he discussed the academy players that regularly train with The Blues’ first team.
Tuchel said: “Right now we have Tino Anjorin, Tino Livramento and other guys who regularly show up in training and try to adapt as quickly as possible to the level and to the work ethic and to be professional like the more experienced players.
“I love the academy boys. I don’t treat them differently but I am very, very happy when we have a lot of them on the training pitch. This is what I absolutely love about football in general and about my work.”
