Everton announced the signing of Francis Okoronkwo from Sunderland.
The forward has joined the academy ranks at Finch Farm after completing a £1m move to the club, and it is hoped he can make his debut for the under-18s in the coming weeks, says the Liverpool Echo.
The talented striker is already highly thought of, with club chiefs believing he was one of the best under-16s in the country last season.
The 16-year-old is set to turn 17 later this month and will be eligible to sign professional terms with Everton when that comes around.
Everton agreed the seven-figure deal with League One Sunderland earlier in the summer but the agreement will only see the Blues pay a fraction of that upfront, with the rest hinging on various clauses in the contract.
