FC Luzern of Switzerland striker, Blessing Eleke is still standing tall, days after netting his 17th goal of the season for his club, saying he is blessed and more than a conqueror, after he helped the underdogs to a stunning 3-0 victory against FC Zurich.
Eleke got the better of Zurich’s more prominent Nigerian youngster, Stephen Odey in the encounter, as Luzern thumped Zurich in a Swiss Super League clash on Wednesday.
With both sides chasing a Europa League qualification in the penultimate game of the season, Eeleke and the hosts raced into an eighth-minute lead when Ruben Vargas hit home Tsiy-William Ndenge’s pass.
Eleke then took over from there, as the in-form 23-year-old Flying Sports Academy of FESTAC Town, Lagos product doubled his side’s lead in the 30th minutes before Vargas struck again nine minutes before the hour.
Megasportsarena.com reports further that Eleke took to social media to celebrate his 17th goal in 38 games, while also thanking his teammates, as the club climb up to third position with 46 points, ahead of their last match away to the champions, Young Boys.
