Crystal Palace of England midfielder, Eberechi Eze has parried all speculation raging over his international future, as he says he only wnts to focus for now on how to make his marks with the under-21 team of his country o birth, megasportsarena.com reports.
While speculation keeps rising that he is being curried by Nigeria Football Federation (NF) president, Melvin Amau Pinnick for him to commit his international future to the Super Eagles, Eze says he is yet to make up his mind in that regard.
However, while hinting that he would eventually formally decide between Nigeria and England at senor level, the former Queens Park Rangers of England sensation insisted he only wants to concentrate for now on hitting top marks with The Junior Lions.
Eze will be hoping to add to his England U21 caps on Friday, when The Junior Lions face Andorra in a Euro qualifier at Molineux Stadium and, though he acknowledged that he will not rule himself out of possibly one day playing for Nigeria, he wants to focus on what he has for now.
The 22-year-old dreadlocks-wearing maverick, who has already played non-binding games for England’s under-20 squad, before featuring competitively for the U21s, with which he has three caps in EURO qualifiers against Albania, Andorra and Turkey, added that he is not in any hurry to make a final decision on his senior national team allegiance.
Eze told British newspaper, Evening Standard: “At the moment, I’m focused on my England under-21 camp. I don’t want to put any type of pressure on myself and try to force anything now.
“I’m focused on the Under-21s, playing for the Under-21s, training, trying to play as many games as I can, and I think that’s the most important thing right now for my development.”
